About Therapy With Me

Individual Session: $210

EMDR Session: $305

I reserve four reduced-fee appointment slots in my practice on an on-going basis. They are first come first served and based on financial need.

**Cinnamon is not contracted with insurance; For clients who want to use their PPO out-of-network benefits, as a service to her clients, she will verify your coverage for you when you provide her with your insurance. Cinnamon will also manage all the claims and billing processing with the insurance company for you. (It is at the discretion of each particular insurance company as to whether or not they will reimburse for out-of-network clinician sessions).

You will be responsible for meeting the deductible and then the insurance company will cover the co-insurance portion of the allowed amount.

California state law requires that the following exceptions be made to your right to confidentiality: a) child abuse or neglect; b) abuse of an elder or disabled individual; c) a threat to the life of another person; d) if, due to a mental disorder, you are in imminent danger of harming yourself or you are gravely disabled (unable to provide yourself with food, clothing or shelter).

Cancellations and Missed Appointments

Your designated hour is your financial responsibility; therefore you agree to pay for your appointment, for the duration of our therapeutic arrangement, regardless of whether you choose to come. You are able to “make up” for cancelled appointments within the week before, during, or after the date of your absence, if our schedules align. I will make every effort to find a time for you. You are allotted one “free” cancellation per month for each time that you attend per week. (For example, if you attend therapy twice per week, you are given two “free” cancellations.) You are not required to pay for sessions that I cancel. I will make every effort to alert you of my planned vacation times in advance. In order to reschedule your session, you must give 24-hours notice, otherwise you are responsible for your fee and I cannot reschedule the cancelled appointment.

If you cancel your appointment, you will be charged by end of the day of the canceled appointment.

Are you accepting new clients? How do I start therapy with you?

Yes! The first step is a free, no cost 15-minute consultation that gives you the opportunity to get a feel for who I am, how I work, and to ask any outstanding questions you may have. It also gives me an opportunity to figure out whether my expertise matches your concerns. If it seems like a good fit, I will send you a link to a link to complete the intake paperwork. You will also get a link to our first online session.

Is there anyone you don’t work with?

I wish I could provide therapy to all, however there are a few populations that are not a good fit with the online therapy services I offer. I do not work with folks with significant drug or alcohol dependency, frequent suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, personality disorders, or symptoms of psychosis. These symptoms require more intensive, face to face services or more specialized services than I can ethically provide via online therapy.

Do you do in person/face to face sessions?

This is an online only practice. I do not provide face to face services, and this will not change after COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted/relaxed.

Treatment Length

The length of our time together depends on your unique concerns. I usually tell clients to plan for at least 6 months. If our work together is complete before then, that’s awesome! And some work may take longer. You and I will discuss a hopeful timeline during your intake appointment and continue to check in as we go.
